  • George Bloom

    George Bloom is a Professor of Biology at the University of Virginia and currently leads the Neuroscience undergraduate program. He is an expert in neurodegeneration. He studies Alzheimer’s disease, metabolic links that connect β-amyloid and tau to damage neurons, to define the structures and pathological properties of various types of β-amyloid and tau oligomers. He also works to develop effective therapeutic and diagnostic tools for the disease.

  • Jack Van Horn

    Jack Van Horn is a Professor of Psychology with a joint appointment in the School of Data Science at the University of Virginia. His research program focuses on the informatics and data science of human neuroimaging and biomedical data for the identification of patterns and biomarkers in brain health and disease. He is interested in open science, and an expert in neuroinformatics and ‘big data’ analytics.

  • Ishan Williams

    Ishan Williams is an associate professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Virginia. She studies quality of life and healthcare among older adults and their family caregivers. Her current research focuses on quality of life issues among older adults with dementia, chronic disease management for older adults with Type 2 diabetes, and links between cognition and vascular problems among African-American adults.
